Matthew Singer will join Mizzen + Main, a men’s dress shirt brand known for performance features, as advising fashion director. Singer, who was the former men’s fashion director of Neiman Marcus, will curate upcoming styles for the collection and work on the development of products such as the 0-5 Performance Blazer.
“We started this company to change the way men think about their wardrobe and enable them to incorporate innovation alongside the classic staples of a man’s attire,” said Kevin Lavelle, Mizzen + Main cofounder and chief executive officer.
Lavelle said Singer’s extensive background and careful eye would be used to “perfect every detail” of the brand’s pieces.
The company started as an e-commerce brand but has since added a wholesale component. It also operated a pop-up store at Saks Fifth Avenue’s flagship in New York over Super Bowl weekend.
In his new role, Singer will lead design, product selection, commercial strategy and work to drive retail growth.
